Top of the Line Equipment

March 17, 2017

As a leader in baseball and softball protective, sock, and fielder screens, Osborne Innovative Products provides top-of-the line equipment that is proudly made in the U.S.A. and is built to last. From “L” screens, to sock screens, and softball pitching screens, the Osborne line of products offers safe, storable, and transportable solutions to all of your coaching needs. Invented by former high school baseball coach Frank Osborne, these products are designed with the
coach in mind.

After a long and successful coaching career, in which he won 11 division championships and 10 league titles, including the 1977 Washington state championship, Osborne dedicated himself to addressing the need for safer and more durable practice equipment. With the first baseball screens being made in his garage, Osborne’s business quickly grew, and soon he was providing products to professional teams, colleges, high schools, and players of all ages. Now owned and manufactured by M.A.S.A. (Mid America Sports Advantage), Osborne Innovative Products continues to provide premium equipment to coaches and players around the country.

These screens are a smart investment for any baseball or softball coach. Unlike many products that start to wear down after a couple of seasons of use, Osborne screens are designed to withstand the test of time. With netting woven straight to the frame for maximum durability, heavy duty #72 braided Dupont® nylon netting, and rust-resistant heavy-gauge Flo-Coat® galvanized steel tubing, these products simply ensure the highest standard of construction.

While at the 2017 American Baseball Coaches Association’s Coaches Clinic, Mike Schmitt, Jr., owner of M.A.S.A., had a chance to hear from coaches about the value of Osborne Innovative Products. “I was approached by several coaches who attested to the strength and reliability of the Osborne products,” Schmitt says. “Many of them told me they’re still using the Osborne screens that they’ve had for more than 10 years!”

With recent advancements made by M.A.S.A.’s research and development team, Osborne products are now more affordable than ever. Historically, the equipment came fully assembled, which meant it had to be shipped by freight. But now equipment can be taken apart and reassembled, without compromising the product’s quality and durability. This means that you can have your Osborne screens shipped via FedEx or UPS, providing major savings on shipping costs.

Osborne Innovative Products provide a number of unique features that make them the top choice in baseball and softball protective screens. The “L” screens include a flip-top that can be adjusted to accommodate both right-handed and lefthanded pitchers without having to physically move the screen. Softball pitching screens can easily be converted into a fielding screen with Osborne’s hole cover. And replacement pillow nets make replacing netting quick and easy by eliminating the need to disassemble your screen frame.

Osborne screens are also optimized for easy transportation and storage. Wheel kits can be attached to screens for a stable and transportable base. Porta Screens are great for travel because they can be knocked down and carried in the optional tote bags. Many screen models feature collapsible frames that allow the top half to telescope down inside the lower half, reducing the height by 30 to 40 percent. The legs are also able to swivel and fold under the screen, making a slim profile for compact storage while still providing a strong and stable base. All of the Osborne screens fold flat to a compact three to five inches and most can collapse the height down. You can stack up to eight screens in just two feet of space.
