Not A Recruiter

November 28, 2018

Jason Ford, a former teaching assistant and softball coach from Alabama, pleaded guilty in federal court in south Florida for attempting to produce child pornography.

According to al.com, federal records show that Ford pretended to be a softball coach for the University of North Florida and University of South Florida. Ford had engaged in a “calculated scheme” to gain the trust of high school softball players, and had inappropriate conversations with them.

An undercover FBI agent who posed as a 15-year-old softball player spoke with Ford. He was then arrested after paying the agent for a sexually explicit video.

Ford will be sentenced on February 1, and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison.
