NCSA Adds Esports

September 27, 2018

Next College Student Athlete has added esports to the 33 other collegiate sports in its recruiting network. According to PR Newswire, Lisa Strasman, President of the NCSA, said she hoped her website would fill esports athletes' needs.

"Esports is the fastest growing sport in the world, and universities are rapidly adding varsity programs to their athletic departments as it continues to surge in popularity," Strasman said. "This growth can make it difficult for student-athletes to identify the right collegiate esports program, and for coaches to fill their rosters. Our platform will ensure the best fit for both esport student-athletes and college coaches."

The NSCA will support all 14 college-supported esports games, including Overwatch and League of Legends. It will also allow esports student-athletes to create recruiting profiles at no charge in order to access the site's coaches network, and allow esports coaches to create free accounts to search for athletes.

"Recruiting for esports has become just as competitive as recruiting for any other collegiate sport," Michael Brooks, Director of the National Association of Collegiate Esports, said. "NCSA will give our member coaches access to an extensive network of student-athletes and help build the best teams for their varsity esport programs."

If you are straightforward with young people, they will usually respect you. This is much better than fabricating something on the spot, and your athletes will usually understand and accept this approach.
