Hats Raise Funds

February 1, 2018

Green Bay (Wisc.) Public School District will sell hats that feature logos for Bellin Health, the Green Bay Packers, and one of four Green Bay high schools to raise money for the schools' athletic departments.

According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, the hats, which cost $20 each, can be purchased at Green Bay East, Preble, Southwest, West or High Schools, each of which will sell the version of the hat with their respective logo. The high schools' logo will be on the right side of the hat, the Packers' “G” will be on the front, and Bellin's logo will be on the back.

Tim Flood, Green Bay Public School District's Administrator of Co-Curricular Programming, said the hats are available to the public.

"We are exploring options to make them available at different locations," said Flood, administrator of co-curricular programming for the district.

The schools will receive 50 percent of what people pay for the hats, and if the hats sell out, the schools will raise $5,000 each. It is possible for the schools to order more hats once they sell out

"We are optimistic that the community response will be positive, with hopes of making more hats available for these schools, and expanding the program to include other area high schools," Mary Hiltunen, Bellin's vice president of sports medicine and orthopedics, said.
